Spiritual Dehydration

Spiritual Dehydration

Spiritual dehydration is so popular among many individuals today. Spiritual dehydration means that one is lacking where the Word of the Lord is concerned.

Spiritual dehydration is found in many churches that are saturated with tradition and not the Word of the Lord. To be saturated with tradition means that instead of the undiluted Word being taught to an individual, tradition is passed down instead. Traditions are customs or beliefs passed down from generation to generation. A doctrine believed to have divine authority but not in the scriptures.

Whenever an individual decides to accept Jesus Christ, they should be taught about repentance first and not baptism. The Lord revealed to me the errors where many have gone wrong. They first advice that baptism should take place however, the scripture says in; Acts 2:38- Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

When true repentance takes place, every demon that is operating in an individual’s life will be troubled. When this individual is baptized they will come up even speaking in tongues. I have seen it numerous times. When true repentance takes place, it is easy for the mind to be converted. As Christians, we must be transformed by the renewal of our minds so that we are not just convinced about Christ but also converted. It’s a fact that there are more convinced Christians than converted. This is because of lack of knowledge and, it is also a common error among many individuals.

Hosea 4:6- My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

There’s a way out according to the book of Proverbs. Proverbs 11:19- but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

It is sad when new converts get into an organization that calls themselves a church, where they are taught about the traditions of the organization rather than the Word of God. I say organization because a true church teaches the undiluted Word of God, line upon line and precept upon precept as they should according to Isaiah 28:10.

Now, the result of not teaching the Word of God will cause spiritual dehydration, spiritual dwarfism and also malnourishment. In caring for plants and being a lover of nature, the Lord downloaded many things into my heart. I have seen plants that have not been watered for days, sometimes weeks. I observed how dehydrated they became. The leaves would be so dry that they start to wilt. The soil would look dry and hard; no moist to be found at all. The Lord explained that this is what a Christian looks like when they are not fed with the Word of God.

The soil transfers nutrients to plants but when the soil is extremely dry and thirsty it has nothing much to offer. This is what happens to people that are a part of an organization that claims to be a church. They sit year after year in diapers and become spiritual dehydrated.

It’s true that we live in a physical world but remember that the true us came out of the realm of the spirit. We were robed in this physical flesh just to exist in this world. We must never forget that the true us is our spiritual man. While we feed the flesh, it’s even more important to feed our spiritual man. We must always bear in mind that it’s our spiritual life that fuels our physical life. To be successful without the wisdom of God is not success as wisdom in itself is success.
This is why we are told in the book of Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

It is vital to remember that though we are living in this world, we are not of this world. True success is when a relationship is established with Jesus Christ. It’s a fact that we cannot take any material thing with us to heaven and, this is why we are encouraged in

Matthew 6:19-21- Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Our spiritual life becomes famished when we are not fed with the Word of God. The scripture says, the Holy Spirit will bring back to our remembrance whatsoever he tells us. But, if you do not feed the spirit man, what will the Holy Spirit brings back to you?

John 14:16- But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

I observe that whenever plants are not moist or are fed with the basic nutrients, it struggles to bear fruit or bloom. Just like plants, we as human beings need to saturate ourselves with God’s Word. When you abide in Christ, he will abide in you. There are many Christians who the Lord has planted some seed in, however, since they are spiritually dehydrated, they end up not germinating or blooming. Hence, they end up never fulfilling their destiny.

My beloved, I encourage you to feast upon the Word of the Lord, that your soul will not be dehydrated and that you will live and not die. May God bless you.
